MicroK8s, Kubernetes and deploying Applications

Abstract

A 45-minute session that walks through containerization and Kubernetes deployment fundamentals on Ubuntu's MicroK8s. Attendees build a Python application, containerize it with Docker, and deploy it to a local MicroK8s cluster using raw manifests. The second half packages the same workload as a Helm chart so you can see how templating fits into the application lifecycle. Suited for engineers comfortable with the command line and basic Python who want a hands-on first encounter with Kubernetes.
